CURING DISCUS AILMENTS

Before commencing any and all medical treatments, we advise that you carefully measure the chemical and physical parameters of the water and continue to do so throughout the treatment, in order to ensure they are within the correct limits. In fact, many ailments are resolved by restoring the environment to reflect the ideal conditions for our discus fish.

ACRIFLAVINA
Can be obtained in pharmacies with a prescription from your veterinary. This medicine has a good antibacterial quality.

Can be used to prevent PROTOZOA and FUNGHI.

Therapeutic doses range between 5-10 mg/L

METHYLENE BLUE
Can be obtained in pharmacies and authorized retailers.

Can be used to cure pathologies such as PROTOZOA, BACTERIA and FUNGHI.

Dose 1 mg of solution base per litre – obtained by dissolving 1 gram in 1 litre of water.

NOTE: can leave indelible stains

QUININE SULPHATE

Can be obtained in pharmacies

Generally used to combat PROTOZOA, in particular OODINIUM

QUININE CHLORHYDRATE

Can be obtained in pharmacies and retailers of chemical products

Also used to combat PROTOZOIC pathologies, in particular OODINIUM

CHLORAMPHENICOL
Obtained in pharmacies and generally administered orally, mixed with food.

Used to fight ailments such as GRAM-NEGATIVE and GRAM-POSITIVE BACTERIA.

Dose 1 gr per 100 Lt water for 4 consecutive days.

SODIUM CHLORIDE
Can be easily obtained in a variety of retailers.

Has gentle disinfectant properties.

Dose 10-15 gr in 1 Lt water

Duration: daily baths of 10-30 minutes until the remission of symptoms.

FLUBENOL (5%)

Should be possible to obtain from pharmacies

Used for INTESTINAL WORMS

Dose 200 mg in 100 Lt water

FULCIN 500

Should be possible to obtain from pharmacies

Indispensible for the cure of MYCOSES

Dose 1 tablet every 50 Lt water in the aquarium (best to crush the tablet and dissolve it in hot water before administering to the tank)

Duration: 2 days.
